Om's Home
A long-running, family-feel hotel in the centre of Jomsom, a two- or three-minute walk from the airport. Om's Home is built around a traditional building and serves Thakali and international food, making it a practical, warm base for early flights, Muktinath day trips and treks into Upper Mustang.

Om's Home stands in the centre of Jomsom on the west bank, a short walk from the airport terminal, which matters on a route where flights leave early and are often rescheduled at short notice. The main part of the hotel is a traditional building, with added wings of rooms around it. Rooms are simple and warm, with thick bedding for cold Mustang nights, and the restaurant serves Thakali dal-bhat alongside international dishes.
We use Om's Home for travellers who want something comfortable and central without the cost of a resort. It suits a night before or after the Pokhara flight, a base for jeep trips to Muktinath and Kagbeni, or the first and last nights of an Upper Mustang trek. The staff are used to trekkers and pilgrims, and can help with luggage storage, jeep bookings and early breakfasts for the first flight out.
Why we use it
- Two or three minutes' walk from Jomsom airport for early flights
- Thakali home cooking and warm, simple rooms
- Good value base for Muktinath and Upper Mustang
Questions
How far is Om's Home from Jomsom airport?
Om's Home is about two or three minutes' walk from Jomsom airport, in the centre of town. That makes it convenient for the early-morning flights to and from Pokhara, and for days when flights are delayed and you need to wait close by. Luggage can be carried over by hotel staff or porters.
Does Om's Home have heating?
Rooms are set up for cold Mustang nights with thick bedding, and the hotel advertises heating, though standards are simpler than in a city hotel. In winter, from December to February, nights in Jomsom fall well below freezing, so bring warm sleepwear. Ask at booking what heating is offered in your room type.
Is Om's Home good for Muktinath pilgrims?
Yes. Many pilgrims stay at Om's Home before and after visiting Muktinath, about 1–1.5 hours away by jeep. The hotel can help arrange jeeps and early breakfasts. Sleeping in Jomsom at about 2,700 m, rather than going straight to Muktinath at 3,710 m, helps your body adjust to the altitude.
