Chitwan & the Terai in February
Our favourite month for wildlife. The grass has been cut, the mornings clear sooner, and rhinos graze in the open along the Rapti. Migrant birds are still at Bishazari Tal and Koshi Tappu, and the days are warm enough to sit in a canoe without shivering. Tharu villages are planting and harvesting mustard, so the fields around Barauli and Amaltari are yellow. Koshi Tappu's migrant birds are at their peak.
