Kasara Resort lies at Patihani, in the buffer zone across the Rapti from the park headquarters at Kasara, about 40 minutes by road from Bharatpur airport. Accommodation is in villas set in gardens, and the resort has a pool, a spa and a restaurant. It feels more like a retreat than a safari camp.

From here you are well placed for the central part of the park, which sees fewer jeeps than the Sauraha side, and for the gharial breeding centre. The resort arranges jeep safaris with licensed guides, birding along the Rapti and bike rides through the farm villages of Patihani. It suits couples and families who want comfort and a slower pace between activities.
