The Old Inn
A heritage inn in two carefully restored Newar townhouses on Bandipur's car-free main street, keeping original wooden doorways and red brick. Rooms over three floors face the mountains or the bazaar, with a dining room opening onto the street and a quieter back terrace.

The Old Inn occupies two old merchant houses in the middle of Bandipur's bazaar, said to be around 150 and 250 years old, restored to keep their Newar character: carved wooden doorways, exposed red brick, low ceilings and steep stairs. Rooms vary in size and style across three floors, all with en suite bathrooms, furnished with local textiles. Some look to the Himalaya, others over the street.
Meals mix Nepali and continental cooking. You can eat in the dining room that opens onto the bazaar, watching the town go by, or on the terrace at the back with valley views and more privacy. Staying here puts you on the street at dusk and dawn, Bandipur's best hours, with Thani Mai and Tundikhel a short walk away.

Questions
Where is The Old Inn in Bandipur?
The Old Inn is on Bandipur's main bazaar street, in the middle of the car-free old town. Vehicles park at the edge of the bazaar, a few minutes' walk away; staff can help with bags. From the inn, Tundikhel and the path to Thani Mai hill are short walks.
What are the rooms like at The Old Inn?
Rooms are spread over three floors of two restored Newar townhouses, varying in size and style, all with en suite bathrooms and traditional furnishings. Some face the mountains, others the bazaar. Expect character, low doorways and steep wooden stairs rather than modern hotel space. Ask for a mountain-view room when booking.
Is The Old Inn suitable for older travellers?
It is popular with older travellers who enjoy heritage buildings, but the restored houses have steep, narrow stairs and low doorways, and some rooms are on upper floors. Mention mobility needs when booking so the inn can offer a lower room. The flat, car-free bazaar outside is easy to walk.
