Dhuleshwar stands in Badalamji, within Dullu municipality, and is dated to the 13th century, the age of the Khasa kings. In the Panchakoshi legend it marks the place where ashes, dhulo, fell, and it is one of the five stops on the pilgrimage circuit.

The temple is built of stone with carvings worn smooth by centuries of hands and weather. During Bada Dashain in autumn and Chaite Dashain in spring special pujas are held, drawing crowds from across Dailekh, and the courtyard fills with music, offerings and food stalls. On ordinary days it is quiet, with a priest and a few local worshippers.

Walk around the temple clockwise, remove your shoes where others do and ask before photographing. Combine Dhuleshwar with Padukasthan, which holds 14th-century images, for a half day on the southern side of the circuit.
