Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge
A small hilltop lodge on a ridge above the Pokhara valley, about 30 minutes from the city, with stone cottages, verandas facing the Annapurna range, an infinity pool and gardens rich in butterflies. Known for its long commitment to responsible tourism.

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge is built along a ridge above the valley, its stone-and-slate cottages arranged so that each room has a veranda looking north to Machhapuchhre, the Annapurnas and, on clear days, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu. It has been open since the late 1990s and was one of the pioneers of eco-tourism in Nepal, with natural gardens that attract many butterfly species.
Days here are slow: sunrise from your veranda, walks along the ridge to surrounding villages, an afternoon by the infinity pool, dinner as the lights of Pokhara come on below. The lodge suits travellers who want peace and views rather than Lakeside's cafes. Recent guests praise the setting and staff; ask about any refurbishment work when you book.
Why we use it
- Every room has a veranda facing the Annapurnas
- Quiet ridge setting with village walks
- Long record in responsible tourism
Questions
Where is Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge?
The lodge sits on a ridge above the Pokhara valley, about 30 minutes' drive from the city and airport. Its ridge-top position gives wide views of the Annapurna range. The lodge arranges transfers, which is easier than finding the last section by taxi. It is a base for slow stays rather than for Lakeside nightlife.
What can you do at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge?
Guests watch sunrise over the Annapurnas from their verandas, walk to nearby villages and along the ridge, swim in the infinity pool, birdwatch and look for butterflies in the natural gardens, and arrange day trips to Pokhara, Begnas Lake or Sarangkot. It is a place for rest rather than activities.
Is Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge good for older travellers?
It suits older travellers looking for quiet, views and good service, with transfers arranged and no need to navigate Lakeside. The ridge setting means some paths and steps between cottages and the main building; ask for a room close to the dining area if mobility is a concern.
